Muir will be closed on Friday and Monday

Minimum Day and Evacuation Drill next Wednesday, Feb 18th
We will have a minimum day on Wednesday with dismissal at 12:33.  We will be conducting a mass evacuation drill that day so if you would like, you can pick up your child starting at noon.  Simply line up at your designated reunion gate, bring your ID, and wait in line.   You will go through the reunion process and have your child released to you before 12:33.  Whether you come to pick up your child early or not, all students will be released by 12:33.

SAVE THE DATE – John Muir Service Day on Saturday, March 7thPlease save the date for John Muir Service Day on Saturday, March 7th from 9am to noon.  John Muir Service Day is a day when students, parents, and staff come together to beautify the campus through gardening projects.

Mindful Monday Minute
Every Monday our students do a Social-Emotional Learning activity in their Muir Time class.  We encourage you to follow up with your student on what they discussed.

Today in Muir’s Mindful Monday we looked at empathy and perspective taking.  The students attempted to look at a situation from both perspectives.  Many times we believe we know what is going on with the other person, however, we are often wrong.  Seeking to understand both sides often illuminates what is actually going on.  The next time your child has a conflict with a friend at school, ask them what they think is going on with the other person and encourage them to seek to understand their peers.
