Donations of Kleenex, Clorox wipes, pencils, pens, etc., are always welcomed by our teachers. You may send items with your students or drop them off at the front office and we will have the items delivered to your designated teacher. Every donation helps us save the school’s tight budget for learning materials. Please see your teacher for any additional items that would be beneficial for their respective classrooms.
Backpack Health: Researchers recommend that a child's backpack should weigh no more than 10% of their body weight. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests a limit of 15% of a child's weight for backpacks. Carrying heavy backpacks is associated wit the following risks:
- Muscle Soreness: Heavy backpacks can cause muscle soreness due to the strain on muscles and ligaments.
- Back and Neck Pain: Carrying excess weight can lead to back and neck pain.
- Poor Posture: Overloaded backpacks may cause poor posture.
* For safety reasons, we do not allow backpacks that have wheels unless the child has a doctor's note. Students' backpacks must hold all school supplies, lunch and anything else needed during the day. Students will not be carrying textbooks as they will have a set of books to take and keep at home.
